Cable Railing Video

We’re working on video for my customer. It is sorta “how-to” on installing the railing. It isn’t going to the the typical cable railing install, as it is actually a retrofit not a replacement. The original railing was wood but instead of completely removing the old railing the large posts were retained and 2 stainless posts added between each.

This ‘not so typical’ install does highlight two of their cable rail components whose use might not be understood by the average customer. The first of these is the Reduced Stem Wood Post Top for Round Handrail

Thanks to my customer for the opportunity to serve them this way – hopefully the end result will help us break new ground in their market. We are constantly reworking their web site to improve customer experience and understanding.

Another thing about the install that is different is that I had to stand on a rickety ladder to shoot. I hope, all-in-all this Deck Railing video project will benefit both “our” customers and “my” customer.

From Almost Invisible to…

Here we go. I have a web site that we made as a brochure for a friend. Typical setup: you buy a domain, put images there, don’t really have any SEO(ized) text, and what can you make the web do for you? Well, Google does know the site is there, and you can get there through Google, but you have to search for an exact phrase.

The Problem

Here is the status of the site (Not to be named yet as we need to setup Google Analytics first):

  1. has stats for 1 year back
  2. average visitors per day 1 (probably search spider)
  3. is spidered by Google, I’ll stop there, ok er, and the wannabes: Yahoo, MSN (and, that is 99%, who cares else, but if the customer does what I want he will also end up in the others. That, including the stupid Chinese spider that you have to block – argh – why are you spidering my site 10 times a day – I don’t speak Chinese anyway)
  4. has no inbound links per (links:sitename.com)
  5. has 1 page (site:sitename.com). Actually, other sites show up there – argh!

The Plan

  1. Follow my basic SEO plan (details Cost$, re: just have me do it for you)
  2. Follow my NEW (currently being learned) Social Marketing SEO methods (less the fluff, unless I decide to flufferize via proxy/contractor)
  3. Document, and report back on this thread as to progress

The Premis

  1. From reading the thread following this particular project anyone will be able to see that SEO works
  2. I will have documented proof that my system works.
  3. Some of you readers will hire me to do the same for you
